What tips do you have for successfully adjusting to life studying abroad?

Studying abroad at Anglia Ruskin takes some adjusting, but it’s definitely doable! The hardest parts for me were homesickness, learning the UK academic style (lots of independent study and essay writing), and managing money since living costs can add up. What surprised me was how easy it was to meet people. Lots of international students are in the same boat abd the staff are approachable if you need help. ARU has great support services (Student Services, International Office, Academic Skills workshops), and joining societies or the Student Union is the fastest way to make friends. My tip: budget smartly, get involved early, and don’t be afraid to ask for help, you’ll settle in much quicker than you expect!
